Summer Days

The angel of water has certainly made her presence felt these last few weeks - again, and although we know we need the rain in the gardens I always feel for the children who are unable to play in the sunshine during their six weeks holiday.

For myself I have just returned from a week of glorious sunshine in the form of daily meditation, fabulous veggie food, painting, drama, poetry reading, standing round a sacred fire (albeit in the rain), clay-modelling, healing Tibetan bowls, chanting, walking and enjying the ambiance of like-minded folk on the Essene Summer Gathering. This year we met in Kent.

Each year we meet for about a week in the Summer. After 11 years I feel as though these are my family, my kindred spirits, and I look forward to spending time together just as much as some look forward to going home for Christmas. Although I am part of the organisation my responsibility and in put are no more and no less than each of the others. If the Essenes were alive today I wonder whether they would approve?

One of my favourite phrases is 'Love in action' and I do believe that the energy of the Essene group I belong to is absolutely that. Whether the original Essenes of biblical times 2000 years ago would have approved of the organic clay work- just for fun, or the hilarious drama group on the final evening I have no idea, but the walking meditation, the silent meal by candlelight, and the gentle healing that took place leading to amazing personal insights among the members was certainly in keeping with the teachings of love and 'brother/sisterhood' and communion with the angels.

Next month ... off to Crete! I wonder what magical angelic moments await there?.

Love and Blessings
