May your days be merry and bright!

Yuletide - Christ Mas - Call it what you will, it's that time again!

Personally, tired though I always seem to become at this time of year ( is it the pressure of deadlines, the purse strings, or the never-ending list of chores?... ) I actually do enjoy Christmastime. I love exchanging gifts, (I even enjoy choosing them) writing and posting all the cards, preparing the dinner... even the food shopping. What I don't enjoy is all the madness.

Traditionally, as we understand, this was a pagan festival to celebrate the end of the Winter - and darkness - and the coming in of the light. Light overcoming the dark. Then it was taken over by the Christian festival to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Bit of a shame really that not many of the people rushing round the super-market today would be thinking much about the reason for the season.

I overheard in Woolworth's sell off a man talking to a little girl of about five years old. "What do you want me to buy you for Christmas?" She was overawed and chose everything! Ouch, what about some of the innocent magic of surprise.

As I write this little blog I'm just wondering what I would change about the Christmas we have developed for our children and grandchildren - and without wishing to sound negative or bah-humbug myself, because I really do believe that we are all doing the best we can for our children, - I'm sad to think it seems a message heavily laden with greed, over-indulgence and expectation, and little to do with love, compassion and kindness, gratitude and sharing?

So as we reach the shortest day, and the season of darkness is overtaken by the light I ask how those of us working with the angels can also 'lighten up'. After all this joyous time is all about receiving, giving and sharing, in service ... isn't it?

I would love to see Christmas as a time for receiving. Receiving the message of Peace of the angels. I would love to see Christmas as a time for giving. Giving unconditionally, without expectation. I would love to see Christmas as a time for sharing. Sharing love, tolerance and patience.

So I'll try to bring a little light into my corner of Essex by holding the energy of Peace. I will give whole-heartedly without expectation of what I will get back, and I will share my love with tolerance and patience. Well, I will try my best. And I know you'll be doing the same wherever you are too!

I wish you a wonderful, peaceful and joy-filled Christmas wherever you are. May the angels fill your home with light and bring you endless love and laughter, and may the darkness be only the comforting kind.

With love and Yuletide Angel Blessings for Christmas!

Prizes

Hello there,

On my recent workshops and show stands I have held a prize draw to promote the launch of my new card deck and book called "Angel Insights", recently published by Duncan Baird Publishing (and now widely available in major bookstores).
We offered a beautiful print of the four Arch Angels - Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel - divinely illustrated in gorgeous colours by the artist Rene Milot.

I'm pleased to announce that the winner of the framed print is: Cristine Hunter, from Northern Ireland.

Lucky runners up - who will receive a beautiful A4 sized print of the 4 separate Arch Angels, are:

Pamela Sinclair, of Bishops Stortford.
Mandy Silver, of Caerphilly.
Pat Darragh, of County Derry
Patricia Wiggett, Essex

I have been giving away cards throughout the shows over the last couple of months.... if you have received one and would like to ask any questions, or if you have a story to share because of the card, please writie to me.

Already I have received amazing feedback from people using the cards.

One lady at Olympia this weekend told me that she was non-plussed at receiving the card representing the angel of 'humility' . But she reflected on this value and of her own feelings about it. Then she placed the card on her desk at work.
Having read from the book that it was about understanding how each of us has a valuable contribution to make, regardless of how small that might seem to be... and that the angel encourages you to quietly value your gifts, without ego, recognizing that being a shrinking violet actually helps no-one (whilst taking care not to allow your ego to get in the way of your spiritual growth) - she has found that she is much more aware of making a fuller and more effective contribution in her work and private life.

Interesting eh? And that is only one small example ... I wonder what has happened in the lives of all the hundreds of cards I have so far given away?

Lots of love and many angel blessings,

Chrissie

It's a Beautiful Day

I seem to refer to the weather quite a lot in my blogs, one way or another, but my office faces the north and so it matters a great deal to me whether the weather is ill - or whether the weather is fair! My moods, like many other people's are affected greatly by the level of sunshine and bright skies I perceive. I am, it seems, a creature of the light!

On this glorious chilly morning, as I walked Daisy dog across open fields the air was crystal clear, sharp and bright as the sun shone in the pale blue frosty sky. It was invigorating. From where I start my walk I face a wood in the distance, and as I stride out across the field each day I pass by one solitary Hawthorn tree. I have watched it throughout the seasons come into bud, blossom, and fall. It holds its own against the backdrop of a western sky so that in the evening sunset casts a striking silhouette.

Everyday, as I pass the Hawthorn tree, I am reminded of the Monday morning Essene communion with the Angel of Life in which it says: "Go then, toward the high growing trees, and before one of them which is beautiful, high growing and mighty, say these words: 'Hail to thee! O good living tree, made by the Creator!' Then shall the River of Life flow between you and your brother the tree."

My tree is not particularly mighty, as any of the majestic high trees in the woods like the oak or beech, or chestnut, but it's a strong old tree, well weathered and slightly out of shape and somehow it seems very special there, in its aloneness, albeit more than likely ignored by most.

Every little leaf on that tree is probably trying to be the best leaf it can be! Every branch is trying its best to be as supportive and nurturing as possible. Every root fibre is doing its job as well as it knows how. And it all works in perfect harmony with nature's goddess, Mother Earth.

I think we are a little like trees ourselves. Some taller than others, some strong dependable, even majestic. Others pliable and yielding while others change shape with the weather. Some trees have very shallow roots and are easily pushed over.
We like the pretty trees with their fragrant blossom, especially the exotc variety that remind us of traveling ,and the ones that produce tasty fruit - but these trees are needy and take time to nurture usually improving with age ... even though in our busy lives much of the fruit is ignored and neglected. Interesting comparison isn't it?

When my children were small we had fun finding the faces in the trees. In my own personal and spiritual development I have enjoyed the healing presence of trees by sensing the aura of the huge old trees in wonderful Arboretums and gardens at Essene Summer gatherings, walking through many forests and woods on my travels, and in times of sadness found myself 'hiding' under the comforting branches of a Weeping
Willow only to find out later that the essence of the tree symbolizes 'poor me!'.

Every tree has an essence, an aura and is a living breathing essential aspect of the co-creation of life on Earth. What's your favourite tree?

Summer Days

The angel of water has certainly made her presence felt these last few weeks - again, and although we know we need the rain in the gardens I always feel for the children who are unable to play in the sunshine during their six weeks holiday.

For myself I have just returned from a week of glorious sunshine in the form of daily meditation, fabulous veggie food, painting, drama, poetry reading, standing round a sacred fire (albeit in the rain), clay-modelling, healing Tibetan bowls, chanting, walking and enjying the ambiance of like-minded folk on the Essene Summer Gathering. This year we met in Kent.

Each year we meet for about a week in the Summer. After 11 years I feel as though these are my family, my kindred spirits, and I look forward to spending time together just as much as some look forward to going home for Christmas. Although I am part of the organisation my responsibility and in put are no more and no less than each of the others. If the Essenes were alive today I wonder whether they would approve?

One of my favourite phrases is 'Love in action' and I do believe that the energy of the Essene group I belong to is absolutely that. Whether the original Essenes of biblical times 2000 years ago would have approved of the organic clay work- just for fun, or the hilarious drama group on the final evening I have no idea, but the walking meditation, the silent meal by candlelight, and the gentle healing that took place leading to amazing personal insights among the members was certainly in keeping with the teachings of love and 'brother/sisterhood' and communion with the angels.

Next month ... off to Crete! I wonder what magical angelic moments await there?.

Magical May

Dear friend,

Throughout the year I love the change in all the seasons. Spring time is always favoured - probably because I happen to be an Aries!

Ah, but "Magical mystical" May, full of festivity and fullness, has nearly completed her task once again. Spreading her blossoming spring beauty over the fields and hedgerows warming the air, filling the trees with colour and fragrance by day and in the evening the May full moon giving its celebratory light to the remembrance of Ancient Wisdom, the country Pagan festival of Beltane and the birthday of Buddha. The city parks and ponds are full of new life and the feelings of renewal and growth stir in our hearts.

On an esoteric, spiritual level it is believed that it is at this time (May) that the energy of the Violet Flame is closer to us assisting with the transmutation of negative thought into positive energy. The ascended Master St Germaine and the Archangel Zadkiel, -the bringer of the Violet Flame - give us the opportunity of personal and spiritual growth and abundant joy... and the whole of nature celebrates by bursting forth into a colourful blaze!

Whether you feel the need to clear away the dust and spring clean your home, your office or your mind this is the time when we usually feel inspired to clear out the old and bring in the new and fresh..... mine starts with the re-potting of tubs and hanging baskets...... a favourite May connection to Mother Earth.

My Celtic connection finds me in the Emerald Isle once again during June and I'm taking this opportunity to let you know about two workshops being lovingly organised by local ladies, a wonderful healer in Gorey and a dedicated Light worker /shopkeeper in Tullow who wishes to develop a spiritual side to her shop offering workshops in spiritual development... and angels! They would be delighted for your support. The details are listed on the events page and I hope to see you soon...
With love and abundant blessings

Doublin the trips to Dublin!

Someone once said to me - a long time before the fears of global warming - that if God had wanted us to fly he would have given us wings... well ... , that might seem like a statement of the obvious, but for the numbers whizzing through the sky on any given second in any one of the thousands of aircraft carrying millions of us through the clouds from any one area of the globe to another. Thousands of people are taking to the skies in droves... I cannot seem to find any flight that is not packed to the gunnels with every seat taken. The world is not only getting warmer, and smaller but busier; flights cheaper, faster, easier.
For my part I am travelling to Ireland almost twice a month running workshops, talks, stands at events and promoting my new Home Study course. But, what about the footprint? How do I offset my growing foot!! I feel guilty but continue, and so it seems does every one else.
I compost, I recycle, I plant trees, I give to charity, I save water, but I still fly.
As far as I am aware, the type of work I am doing cannot be done via my astral body, in my sleep, and I just don't know the answer. Maybe I should keep rubbing my shoulder blades and see what happens... before it's too late!

Please take a moment to ponder on this

Pardon the pun in the title - unintended! But ...

After the deluge of rain we have been experiencing this Winter it made me reflect on the possible sadness of Mother Earth ...

As human beings our blood is made up of 78% water. Those of you who have become familiar with the work of Dr Masaru Emoto and his amazing pioneering photographic evidence of the effect of sound, spoken words, music and even our intention, attitudes and thoughts that can be imbued on water, ice-crystals and therefore the human body, will perhaps already have wondered what kind of outcome all of this fear, anger and despair towards the rising water levels may have on the people in the affected towns and villages.
Have you ever heard someone say ' Aha, ... spilt emotion' when a glass of water has been knocked over? There's rather a lot of emotion sloshing around at the moment then ... makes you think!

With love

Angels are not just for Christmas

Christmas has been and gone once again, and for too many it brings along the a flurry of planning, shopping, eating, drinking, spending, wrapping, rushing, feeling guilty, worrying and stressing. Instead of leaving us with a sense of awe at the wonder of the Universe, and renewing or questioning our belief in the coming of Christ some of us a left grieving, worn-out and broke!

When my children were small - eons ago - I found a wonderful bright cheery poster which said 'Jesus is the reason for the season' and to my husband's horror I put it on the front door of our house, rather than a replica of Santa - or a snowman, to remind passes by why they were 'doing' all this!
His fear? That people might think I was a 'nutter'. (More likely he was afraid of being associated with one!)

Sure enough there is another amusing phrase around on magnets and car-bumpers that says 'God wants to see spiritual fruits not religious nuts' ... and with all the fear in society at present surrounding fanaticism of all types, both political and religious, there is always a niggle that we might be condemned by our friends and neighbours if we are seen to be 'different'.

But, what price spiritual growth? What price authenticity and integrity?

Whether we believe the story of the nativity or not, whether we would rather follow a path of transcendence, or whether we have found spirituality through healing with crystals, or been called by angels to serve humanity in a way that is totally unique to our own special gifts - surely this means following our inner calling and then being honest and brave enough to stand and be counted. I think that's probably what my granny meant when she said "you have to have the strength of your own convictions" ...

I firmly believe that angels do walk the streets in many forms and that the images presented to us in the build up towards the festive season of Christmas - however disguised in tinsel and glitter - are actually a reminder that whether we are aiming to self-realise, or simply to be the best we can be, then lets try to be honest, generous of spirit, helpful and kind throughout the year and not just because of the social implications of gift giving at Christmas.

With love and angel blessings for a wonderful, meaningful, 2008
